What The Heck Is Going On?

Are you hot/cold, grumpy/slightly manic, lacking in libido, lacking in sleep, or feeling down? Is your period more frequent/erratic/non-existent?  Is your waistline expanding for no apparent reason?  Or are you wondering what all the fuss is about, but want to learn more? 

The menopause is a natural process of fluctuating and then declining hormones. Nature hasn’t got this wrong – although we sometimes feel like she could have made some improvements! However, our lifestyle, diet and unique set of health challenges can make this transition easier or more difficult for some people. HRT is not the only option, so this course looks at natural ways to support our health and address some of the underlying imbalances that could be at the root cause of our symptoms. 

With the right knowledge, you can understand what is going on and what you can do to really support your health, and feel great (or at least a good human version of yourself) as you move through and beyond the menopause. 

Whether you’re in the middle of full-blown symptoms, at the very start and noticing slight changes in your cycle, or whether you’ve not seen your period for a year or two. Or even if you wonder if it’s actually happening at all, despite being in your late 40’s/early 50’s, you will benefit from these workshops, learning in a fun and informal way how to feel better as you go through the change and beyond. 

If you want to understand what’s happening to your body, and want to feel more like you again, these workshops will give you practical advice and the knowledge to make positive changes to improve how you’re feeling. 

We will be tackling the key areas that affect our ability to sail through the menopause.  The role of diet and lifestyle, stress, sleep, the impact of chemicals, and looking at natural remedies that are not only balancing, but support and optimise our health. 

The groups are limited to a maximum of 15 people, so that I can offer a better level of support. This is so helpful if you feel like you’re going slightly crazy with no one who understands what you’re going through. We are all in the same boat. These groups are supportive and fun.

I am a BANT and CNHC registered Nutrition Practitioner. I practice root cause diet and lifestyle medicine, helping women reclaim their health and feel great with simple diet and lifestyle changes. I am also in the same boat – I’m 49 and going through the menopause with an underactive thyroid, so I totally understand the challenges!

Understanding what’s happening to your body and mind (aka why do I feel crazy and why is my waist growing?) 

Nutrition – Part 1 – How and what to eat, getting the fundamentals right for mood, energy and weight. 

Includes a suggested Meal Plan to get you started

 

Nutrition – Part 2 – Therapeutic foods, especially for Hot Women! A food demonstration will show you how to boost the nutrition content of your food, with minimum fuss.

Stress – How it impacts on our hormone balance and what to do about it when everyone around you is driving you crazy.

Our lovely yoga guru will give us some tools and advice on how to instantly cool and calm down

Supplements & Natural Remedies – How to use them, and how not to. What to look out for when choosing supplements. Are they worth the money? 

A look at toxins and how certain chemicals can disrupt our hormone balance with tips on how to avoid them

Looking at other lifestyle factors involved in the menopause with tips on how to make positive changes, including sleep and exercise.

Our Confidence Coach helps us put our knowledge into practice, and take the first steps to making simple but long lasting changes!
