About Alexis Prior Nutrition

Are you looking for help to feel alive again, improve your uncomfortable symptoms, feel less overwhelmed and support your health in the long term?

I am Alexis Prior, an experienced registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioner with a key interest in women’s health, digestive health and auto-immune conditions. I am also a coach for the wonderful Metabolic Balance Weight Management Programme.

Like so many, I’ve also had my own health issues including SIBO, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and anxiety, that have both worn me down at times, and spurred me on to train in nutritional therapy in order to help others.

I qualified from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London and trained in the functional medicine approach to health and nutrition. This involves using the latest evidence in nutritional science to help you identify what is causing you to feel unwell. I help you to find the root cause of your symptoms, and to put a plan in place that supports your health.

Your body is fundamentally programmed to restore you back to health, but there are many barriers that stand in its way.  I’ll help you identify your barriers, whether that’s diet or lifestyle, stress or psychological barriers. There may be other factors such as nutrient deficiencies, underlying infections, immune or hormonal imbalances that need to be tackled. I then give you the tools to help you tackle those issues.

About Me
I live in the beautiful city of Bath and hold clinics in Bath and Corsham (in Wiltshire), and also by Skype.

I’ve been a Registered Nutrition Practitioner since 2012 having graduated in Nutritional Therapy after 4 years study and clinical training at the renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London.

I graduated with distinction and won the Dian Shepperson Mills award for Outstanding Performance in clinic, and I love what I do.

Having been diagnosed with my own autoimmune condition, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, I totally understand the frustrations my clients have with the standard medical advice, and also the ups and downs of the journey back to health.

However, I am grateful (on positive days!) that I have been on this journey, because I am far healthier, happier and feel more in control than ever, and it’s this that I seek to pass on to my clients.  We’re not all perfect, but we can be our own version of perfect!

I have a passion for vibrant, colourful food. In my previous life, I worked around the world in the travel industry, and loved the variety of cuisines, from Mexican to Indian, Jamaican to Portuguese. However, I am busy, and I’m no culinary genius, as you will see from my Facebook Pages and Group, so everything I eat and recommend is simple to put together and maximizes nutrition. My homemade baked bean recipe is a staple!

In my spare time I crave the outdoors and long walks, especially along the Pembrokeshire Coast. I started Crossfit, at Crossfit Bath about a year ago, after a brief dip in to the world of kettlebell sport, and this is a constant challenge!

I crave activity, but have to balance this with downtime and relaxation to avoid energy dips, so you’ll also find me reading, and enjoying time with my family and friends.
