Alexis Prior - Nutrition Practitioner in Bath

I have always been a huge fan of fresh, natural and delicious food having spent many years working

overseas where I was exposed to exciting new cuisines and flavours.

However, it wasn’t until I sought help from a nutritional therapist for my own health issues that I understood exactly how much food can influence our health, in particular our digestive systems, energy levels and mood. It was a revelation, and I made a number of long lasting changes to my diet, which have been incredibly beneficial to me as a sufferer of a medically diagnosed underactive thyroid gland and the autoimmune disease Hashimoto's.

So, I took my love of fabulous food and positive experiences of nutritional therapy and embarked on the renowned Nutritional Therapy Diploma and Foundation Science Degree, at the prestigious Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London. I graduated with Distinction and won the Dian Shepperson Mills award for Outstanding Performance in Clinic. I have never looked back!

I practice nutritional therapy in Bath, North East Somerset and Corhsam nr Chippenham in Wiltshire.

My passion lies in helping people understand what is going on in their own body and giving them the tools to improve their own health.  Seeing clients have their 'light-bulb' moments where they achieve a real understanding of their health condition and possible causes is fantastic.

In order to remain informed and up to date within my profession, I attend regular seminars, conferences and training programmes to ensure continuous professional development. Recently my studies have focussed on Nutrigenomics, the emerging science of how our genes are infuenced by the food and nutrients we take in, and other lifestyle factors.

I am a fully registered member with the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT),

the professional body for Nutritional Therapists. As such I comply with the National Occupational Standards

(NOS) for Nutritional Therapy and the NTC Core Curriculum.

I am also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), a national

regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners, developed in conjunction with government funding in order

to regulate advice given to the public.

My Mission

To use my knowledge to motivate and empower you to achieve your health goals, enabling you to understand

what is happening in YOUR body, and possible underlying reasons for your symptoms.

I will work with you to put an achievable, effective and enjoyable plan in place that suits your personal needs

and enables you to eat delicious food for both health and pleasure.
